D.J. Phillips - Guitarist Extraordinaire - D.J. is ecstatic to return to the Medora Musical for his eighth consecutive year. Despite any outrageous claims to the contrary, he can’t get enough of the enchantment of the Dakota’s and the stunning allure of the badlands. Annually succumbing to the siren song of the West is a tradition he plans to continue until the Little Missouri runs dry… or at least until he wears out his welcome.
D.J. is a proud member of original rock band Brother Big Bad. His other credits include “Honky Tonk Angels”, “Hank and My Wonky Tonk Heroes”, “A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline”, and “Menopause: The Musical”.
Roger Rettig - Pedal Steel Guitar - Originally from London, England, Roger turned ‘pro’ in 1960, playing guitar with Eden Kane, Joe Brown, Marty Wilde and other UK stars, and often touring alongside the Beatles or the Rollin’ Stones.
By the 1970’s, he was busy as a studio player recording with artists as diverse as Elmer Bernstein, Tom Jones and George Harrison. He played on countless TV jingles, and, since he took up pedal steel guitar, was in great demand for many West End theatre shows.
He moved to the USA in 1997 and now lives with his American wife, Susie, a theatrical costume designer, in Naples, Florida.
Life is good- Roger either plays guitar of plays golf on any given day; he is delighted to be returning to the Medora Musical for a fourth time where he can do both!
Chad Willow - Associate Music Director/ Keyboards - The Wild West has called me back for a sixth season of the Medora Musical. I’m looking forward to playing with old friends on the bandstand, and working with an almost all new cast on stage. My anticipation of this summer in Medora brings to mind the feeling you get while watching one of the great golden sunsets of the West.
